Facebook releases javascript API

Facebook continues it’s assult on the social media space by making it even easier for developers to leverage their facebook created apps.  In particular a javascript API is now available that will allow you to host your (IFrame) facebook apps within your own site.

There are however various concerns over the security of the system when anyone can see your ‘api_key’.  I think i will stick to the server-side implementation at least until some of these concerns are ironed out.

Sun Aquires MySQL for US$1B

Just before all the world markets crashing sun drops some cash to buy MySQL.  Who knows what this means for the future of the forked Falcon engine.

OpenID gaining support

Google recently accounced their support for OpenID by becoming a provider through their Blogger platform.

 This hottly follows the news that a Yahoo logon is now an OpenID that could be used throughout the internet.
